Last updated 22 October 2026. Use of the connector is under the API terms; our privacy page covers what it handles.
What it does
The connector grades one US itinerary at a time: a direct flight, or a connection of two flights. Give it the flight numbers and the date of the first flight, and the airports if you have them. It answers with the grade, A to F, that GateCast's connection check gives those flights, with how often it ended in a missed connection and the notes the card shows. It uses the same engine and the same flight records as the site; unlike the site's check page, it never uses a live timetable.
Grades are estimates and carry no guarantee. Always check your airline's minimum connection time.
Add it
In Claude, open GateCast's listing in the Claude directory and connect it there. Or add it yourself: in Claude's connector settings, or in any other assistant that supports remote connectors (Model Context Protocol), add a custom connector with this address. No sign-in is needed.

The tool
grade_us_flight_itinerary, read-only. Its inputs:
flights(required): one flight number for a direct flight, or two for a connection in flying order, airline code and number, for example["UA2040", "UA767"].date(required): the first flight's departure date,YYYY-MM-DD.airports(optional, recommended): the airports in flying order, for example["BOS", "ORD", "DEN"]. A flight number can fly more than one route; without the airports, such a flight isn't graded and the answer asks for them.inbound_delay_minutes(optional, connections only): how late the first flight is now. The answer then adds the chance of missing the connection on last year's days the first flight landed about that late, and the next later flight on the same airline (or its regional partner) from last year's timetable.
A trip with more than one connection takes one call per connection. Send only these fields: never names, booking references or other personal data. We store no personal data; only the answer to each question is kept, for up to 6 hours.
What it can't do
- It works from history: last year's US flight records, Aug 2025 to Jul 2026. It has no live timetable, live delay, fare or booking. Times are from the past year's schedules; check the airline for the current timetable.
- If a flight didn't fly within 45 days of that date last year, the answer still grades it, as the site's connection check does, labelled “Didn't run around this date last year: limited data, may not operate.” If the flights have too few days in our records to grade at all, the answer says there is not enough history and gives no grade.
- US domestic flights only.
- 10 new answers a minute for each caller; more are refused. Each answer is kept for up to 6 hours, so the same question in that time gets the same stored answer.
The same questions can be asked over plain HTTP: see the API page.
